Bohol By Plane

Bohol can be reached either by plane or by ship. The island has it's own airport on Panglao Island near Alona Beach and there are now eight daily flights to and from Manila by either of the three domestic carriers:

Cebu Pacific Air, Philippine Airlines and Air Asia Philippines. Other flights go to Davao, Cagayan de Oro and Angeles City, mostly on a daily basis. There are now two daily flights to Cebu by Air Juan (by Sea Plane?).

International Arrivals

If you have to book a flight from abroad to the Philippines, you can do this either to Manila or Cebu International Airport. Most international Airlines have flights to Manila, Cebu is served by by: Cathay Pacific (via Hongkong), Emirates (via Dubai), Silk Air & Scoot from Singapore. Cebu Pacific also operates flights between Cebu and Singapore or Hongkong in case you need a connection flight. Air Asia Philippines now also flies between Cebu and Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

By Ship:

Tagbilaran: Comfortable Fast Ferries, such as Ocean Jet or Super Cat take you in about one an a half hour to and from Cebu several times a day. Slower but bigger Ships taking 4 hours for the same way and operate also during the night.

Another Ferry travels between Tagbilaran and Cagayan de Oro in Mindanao every other day.

Jagna is located on the south coast of Bohol and there is a daily ferry going to and from Cagayan de Oro (Mindanao). Travel Time is about 6 hours.

Tubigon on the north coast of Bohol lies closer to Cebu than Tagbilaran and there are some older Express boats and some slow Ferries going to Cebu about every hour or so. The Express Boats travel only about 45 Minutes to Cebu while the bigger boats take 2 hours.

Note: If your final destination on Bohol is Alona Beach or Panglao Island, choose Tagbilaran as your arrival port.
